Dear Families,

We sure have had a dreary week.  Hope the weekend stays nice.  Remember the reception for Jamelle Swanson on Sunday from 2-4 PM in the hospitality space at church.

In your folder today, are golf drawing tickets, which are 12 for $10.  We will have lots of prizes in the drawing that is held on the day of the golf tournament.  Please consider supporting this if you can.  You do not need to be present to win.  In the past we have had prizes of  ½  hogs, cash, jewelry, tickets to places in the cities, and gift certificates.  Thank you for your support.

There are surveys in your Friday folder today that we would ask you to complete.  Please take the time to provide feedback on your child’s teacher.  Each family has a form for each homeroom teacher and also one per family for phy ed. and music. We are always striving to improve so your opinion is important to us. Please fill in the teachers name and use the back for additional comments or suggestions if needed.  Thank you for doing this.   I truly appreciate your input.  The 6th grade parents also have an exit survey we are asking them to complete.

The NWEA tests were completed this week.  If you have not received your student’s results, they will be coming soon.  We are trying to have a standardized form for this.  You may get them in your student’s report card.

Shelley Busche, Chrissy Lutterman and Jeff Varboncouer will be appointed to the school board for the next three years.  They will be replacing Heather Dulas, Deb Hartwig,  Bob Petrowiak whom we want to thank for their hard work and dedication.  You were an asset to me and SJV School .

Reserve July 19th for the 7th annual SJV School Golf Classic.  It is guaranteed to be a great time.  Please consider golfing.  Cost for the day is $115 and includes lunch, a gift, 18 holes of golf with a cart, entertainment by students, and dinner.  If you can not stay for dinner, we can send your evening meal with you.  We hope to continue the great turnout we had last summer.

In your Friday folder is an updated scrip tally for your family.  This is the last tally sheet you will receive this year.  Remember your $800 scrip obligation needs to be completed by May 31st.  For each $800 over the original $800, you name goes in a hat and we draw for a $100 generic gift card.  The drawing will be held after the middle of June. This will give Laura Bearson time to tally Mays totals.  If you need to purchase scrip, you can send in your form with money next week and we will send it home with your student.  If you have not met the scrip obligation of $800, you will be accessed a fee of $80.

If you have not completed your “Points for Parents”, we have a few opportunities still available.  We are looking for help with the alumni mailing on Tuesday, May 25th at 12:30 in the cafeteria.  This is part of our golf tournament drawing.  You will be done for sure by 3:00 PM.

We also need people to help with the library inventory starting Monday at 8:30 PM.  It is electronic so it doesn’t take near the time it used to but we still need help.  Please consider helping accomplish this end of year task.  Thank you.

Please remember to pay any final bills you have.  All fines need to be paid before the students received their report card.

Have a great weekend.  I am ready for warm weather and sunshine.

 God’s Blessings,

Joan Schaffer
