Dear
SJV Families,
We will be beginning to work on the seventh annual SJV Golf tournament on July
19th. It has been such a fun event and we know it will be again. The
format will be the same. If there is any parent who would like to get
involved with the planning of the tournament, we could sure use your help.
Just call the school office or let me know. Thanks!!!
On Friday, April 16th, at 1:00 PM, the magazine award reward party will be held.
We will have ice cream sundaes and play games. At 2:00 PM the same day, we
will have the award ceremony with the Pig Race, the Zarts game and Pirates Gold.
We need students who have earned the Pig to bring them into school that day for
the pig race. This includes Espen Anthony, Skye Dobie, Dylan Gerken, Kylie
Klages, Brycen Lutterman, Darren McMurtry, Marisa Nelson, Anthony Shimon, Zach
Soelter, and Victoria Vuocolo.
Please help them remember. It should be a fun afternoon. Please come
join us if your schedule permits.
A reminder that the Spring Fine Arts Festival will be Thursday, April 22nd.
The music program begins at 6:30 PM
and the students need to be here by 6:15 PM. The students should wear nice
church clothes. NO JEANS AND NO HIGH
HEELS. It is always a fun evening. Scrip will be
available for families to purchase this evening.
We will be participating in the state tornado drill on Thursday, April 22nd, at
1:45 PM. We need to be prepared if the unthinkable does happen. The
second drill is the same day at 6:55 PM during our Fine Arts Festival. We
will not be leaving the gym for this. Please know if we were in a real
warning, we would take cover.
We will be doing our last NWEA testing of the year during the weeks of April
26th and May 14th. Just a reminder to have your children get plenty of
sleep and eat a good breakfast on these days. Research has shown that
students do better on tests if they have eaten well and are rested.
In last week’s Friday Folder was a Memory Book order form. If you would
like your child to have a memory book, please return this envelope with the $15
and we will make sure your student receives one when they come. Final day
to return the order form is April 16th.
The Endowment Dinner is Monday, April 26th. The Endowment gives the school
about $50,000 per year which helps keep the tuition as low as possible.
Please show your support and attend if possible. The 6th graders have been
asked to provide the music for the dinner. They will be singing their
pieces from the Fine Arts Festival. Thanks for considering this.
Jump Rope for heart begins on April 12th. If your students
wants to participate for the prizes, please have them return the form.
Also POP CAN day is Friday, April
16th.
The Palm Sunday breakfast went well. The students made over $1,000.
If any of the 6th grade parents have not picked up your pans, please
do so. The pans are in the kitchen on the counter by the dishwasher.
We are entering the busy season of the year. Lots of field trips.
The 2nd graders are touring the hospital on May 6th.
The third grade Heritage Acres field trip is May 14th as is the 5th
graders’ trip to the Courthouse. The Grotto trip for the 4th
graders has been set for Thursday, May 20th. The K-2nd
grade field trip has not be set yet but we will keep you posted.
Sixth graders are headed to Eagle Bluff from May 17th-19th. The picnic and
field day is coming May 21st. Come join us on this fun day.
We are looking for individuals to run for school board. It is a three year
term and you would help lead the school for the future. Please let me know
by April 15th if you
are interested in being a part of the school board.
Please add
Congratulations to the Cihoski family. Sean Paul Kwintyn was born last
Saturday, March 27th at 5:51 PM. He weighed 7# 10 oz. and was
21 inches long. What a wonderful Easter gift.
Happy Easter! Have a wonderful three day weekend. We do have school
on Monday and then the students are off for the rest of the week. There
will not be a Friday folder next week.
God’s
Blessings,
Joan
